There are many broadband service providers that compete with each other in providing cheap and supposedly revolutionary broadband phone services which allows subscribers to place calls from their existing broadband Internet connection at very low cost. There are various plans available for as little as twenty dollars per month and each plan has a number of unique features such as keeping existing phone numbers, low international rates, international call block and a host of other attractive options.

Basically, broadband phone, also known as internet phone, allows users to use their internet connections instead of the usual landline to place calls. Voice over Internet Protocol converts the voice into digital packets and sends it over the Internet and these are converted back into analog signals before reaching the receiver at the other end.
